Privacy Policy for CollimateScope Last updated: May 2026 Overview CollimateScope ("the App") is a telescope collimation tool developed by Kvanath. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data. Data We Collect The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically: The App uses your device's camera to display a live preview for telescope collimation purposes only. Camera data is never recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere. The App stores your reticle settings (circle sizes, positions, and display preferences) and camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, focus, zoom) locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences storage. This data never leaves your device. The App stores named presets you create, also locally on your device. This data never leaves your device. The App does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App does not require an internet connection to function (except to load the optional YouTube tutorial thumbnail). The App does not connect to any servers. Permissions Used Camera: Required to display the live camera preview used for collimation. The camera feed is never recorded or transmitted. Internet: Used only to load the YouTube tutorial thumbnail image from YouTube's public servers. No personal data is sent. Children's Privacy The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. Third-Party Services The App displays a link to a YouTube video tutorial. If you tap the link, you will be taken to YouTube, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy. We have no control over YouTube's data practices.
